ITINERARY:

Our Rainbow Mountain Motorcycle Tour Full Day offers you an exhilarating journey through the Peruvian highlands. It culminates in stunning views from Rainbow Mountain and the Red Valley. Here’s what the adventure will look like in detail:

We will begin our day early at 6:00 AM, departing from Cusco for a two-hour ride to Cusipata (3,500 meters / 11,482 feet). Here, we will enjoy a delicious local breakfast to fuel up for the day ahead.

After breakfast, we will ride along a scenic dirt road that borders the river. We will head toward Pilpinto (3,550 meters / 11,647 feet), where we will pay an entrance fee of 5 soles. The ride offers stunning views of the landscape, with snow-capped peaks in the distance.

After another 20 minutes of riding, we will reach Chillihuani (3,900 meters / 12,795 feet). Here, we will need to purchase tickets (20 soles) and pass through a ticket control station. From this point, we will ascend through Andean villages, with herds of llamas and alpacas grazing nearby. The road will take us through Pulapatahuasi (4,600 meters / 15,091 feet).

At Pulapatahuasi, we will prepare for a two-hour uphill hike to the top of Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca). This trek will be physically challenging but rewarding.

We will see snow-capped peaks like Ausangate in the backdrop, towering at 6,385 meters (20,948 feet). The hike has breathtaking views, colorful mountain ranges, and traditional Andean life.

We will reach the top of Rainbow Mountain at 5,035 meters (16,519 feet). We will have time to relax and take photos of this awe-inspiring natural wonder. The vibrant colors of the mountain will be a highlight of the tour.

After soaking in the views, we will begin our descent. The path back offers an optional route through the Red Valley, named for the reddish hue of the earth. This special route will add a unique experience to the tour, showcasing more of Peru's diverse landscapes.

We will stop at the Loya Family Viewpoint. This is where we will pay 10 soles and take a short 25-minute round-trip walk to appreciate the sweeping vistas of the valley.

Return to Cusipata and Lunch (2:30 PM – 5:30 PM)
