DESCRIPTION:


Get ready for an exciting 3-day, 2-night motorcycle adventure to Machu Picchu! We’ll start from Cusco, riding through the scenic Sacred Valley, visiting Chinchero and Ollantaytambo. Along the way, we’ll cross the stunning Abra Málaga mountain pass, reaching 4,316 meters (14,160 feet).


We’ll continue to Santa Maria and Santa Teresa, surrounded by lush landscapes. After a thrilling ride, we’ll reach Hidroelectrica, where we’ll park our bikes for a scenic hike to Aguas Calientes. There, we’ll stay the night and prepare for the highlight: visiting the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu the next day.


Explore Machu Picchu and Relax in Cocalmayo


After exploring Machu Picchu, we’ll return to Santa Teresa to unwind in the thermal baths of Cocalmayo. The natural hot springs will offer the perfect relaxation after a day of exploring.


The next morning, we’ll ride back to Cusco through Santa Maria, crossing Abra Málaga once again. We’ll visit Ollantaytambo and Pisaq, ending our journey at the impressive Saqsayhuaman ruins before returning to Cusco.


Throughout the trip, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views, historical landmarks, and the thrill of off-road riding. This tour will give you the perfect mix of adventure, culture, and nature.


ITINERARY:


Day 1: Cusco – Chinchero – Ollantaytambo – Abra Málaga – Santa Maria – Santa Teresa – Hidroelectrica – Aguas Calientes

We will depart from Cusco in the morning and head towards Chinchero and Ollantaytambo. The ride will take us through the scenic Sacred Valley, offering incredible views of the Andes. We will stop for lunch at Ollantaytambo or Santa Maria, depending on our timing.

Afterward, we will ride up to Abra Málaga, reaching an altitude of 4,316 meters (14,160 feet). The descent from here will be thrilling as we enter the lush Urubamba Valley, eventually reaching Santa Maria at 1,000 meters (3,280 feet). From here, the terrain will change to off-road, and we will face dirt paths, water crossings, and winding curves as we ride the 40 kilometers (25 miles) to Santa Teresa.

Upon arriving at Hidroelectrica, we will park the bikes and board the tourist train to Aguas Calientes. After a scenic train ride, we will arrive in Aguas Calientes, where we’ll rest and prepare for our visit to Machu Picchu the next day.

    We will start the day with a hearty breakfast in our hotel in Aguas Calientes. Afterward, we will take the bus to Machu Picchu, where our guide will take us through the ancient citadel. We will explore the magnificent ruins, learning about its rich history and cultural significance.

    After visiting Machu Picchu, we will return to Aguas Calientes and board the train back to Hidroelectrica. We will then ride back to Santa Teresa for lunch. In the afternoon, we’ll have free time to relax in the Cocalmayo hot springs, a perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring.

    We will spend the night in Santa Teresa, preparing for our final ride back to Cusco the next day.

  • Distance: 10 km (6 miles) by bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu
  • Time: 2-3 hours at Machu Picchu

  • Day 3: Santa Teresa – Santa Maria – Abra Málaga – Ollantaytambo – Pisaq – Saqsayhuaman – Cusco

    On our final day, we will ride back to Cusco, starting from Santa Teresa and passing through Santa Maria once again. We will ascend the Abra Málaga pass, experiencing one last exhilarating ride at high altitude.

    We will descend into the Sacred Valley, stopping in Ollantaytambo for an optional visit to the ruins. Afterward, we will have lunch in Urubamba before continuing our journey. We will visit an additional archaeological site, either Pisaq or Saqsayhuaman, on our way back to Cusco.

    Our adventure will end as we return to Cusco in the late afternoon, completing a thrilling 3-day motorcycle journey through the Andes.
